Safety

Safety has always been the primary mission of Seneca Flight Operations and we are continually reviewing any changes, enhancements or procedures to maintain and enhance our exceptional safety record.

Training

Our training standards are consistently higher than required by law. A few examples:

  • The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandates charter operators to provide flight training for pilots once per year.

At Seneca Flight, our pilots attend training twice a year

  • There are no regulations regarding how many pilots have to receive training at one time – it is more cost effective to send pilots one at a time to the training.

At Seneca Flight, we send our flight crews in pairs whenever possible in order to enhance the training experience

  • The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires annual security training.

At Seneca Flight, our security training is beyond the standard requirements – so much that we are one of a handful of Part 135 carriers approved for flight operations in and out of Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.

Equipment

Seneca Flight Operations always looks beyond standard requirements to make sure we have the best enhanced safety equipment on all of our aircraft. For example:

You have probably heard of Satellite radio ... but how about satellite weather?

Our entire fleet is equipped with XM Satellite Weather in order to give the flight crews a view of the weather for your entire journey – not just the 100 miles in front of you. This enhancement allows the crews to observe hazardous weather patterns before encountering them – and safely navigate around them to your destination.

People

No short cuts at Seneca Flight Operations. Our employment standards for flight crews exceed those of most major airlines. When you climb aboard a Seneca Flight Operations aircraft, you can rest assured your flight crew has met among the most stringent standards for the air charter industry.

Our aircraft technicians have an average of over 20 years experience repairing aircraft. You can rest assured the mechanic who maintains your aircraft is a seasoned professional.

Mission - Safety

The primary mission of Seneca Flight Operations is to provide the safest air transportation available. Period. That mission supersedes a number of other motivations common in the business world …including:

Revenues

While the FAA will allow a pilot to legally work up to 28 days a month, we will not do that as fatigue can be dangerous to everyone involved – and we realize our flight crews have a life outside of aviation.

We have turned down business in the past to insure we have an effective anti-fatigue program – and will do so again if necessary.

A Reputation as the "guys that will always fly"

If you are looking for an air charter company that lives by the Post Office motto: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"

Safety always comes first and in a questionable situation, the conservative approach wins every time.

"We'll probably be OK" is never acceptable.

In the past we have lost business for this stance … and may lose more business in the future. But we will never lose the trust of our valued clients – nor the reputation for being among the elite in air charter companies.
